If you are scoring at home or at the ballpark and the play “6-4-3” doesn’t ring a bell, then follow these simple steps to enjoy America’s national pastime even more.
First, you will have to go out to your local sports store or even the sporting goods department at Wal-Mart, and buy a scorebook (this is a book containing preprinted blank score sheets), or buy a program from a professional baseball game. The program will usually come with a score card. It may be a good idea to ask the vendor selling the program about the inclusion of a score card. If you cannot afford to purchase a score book, you can make your own using graph paper or even a piece of lined notebook paper.
Once you have your score card in hand, you will see at the top, a place for the date, time of game, and the teams playing. Along the side will be blank spaces to include the players’ names and positions. Out from the names and positions you will find the actual scoring part of the notebook. This will look like several tiny baseball fields, laid out in grid form, and separated by columns, which are actually the innings.
