“Our Song” is a coming of age movie about three teenage girls growing up in the summertime in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Lanisha, Joycelyn, and Maria are fifteen and sixteen-year old girls at a point in their lives where they are trying to discover themselves. The girls are living their lives happily and putting most of their energy into their high school band. One day after band practice they learn, from their friend Eleanor, that their school is going to close due to asbestos problems.
