1 Introduction 1.1 Purpose The purpose of this report was to critically analyse and evaluate Hieronymus Bosch’s artistic style and to understand his technique of narrative, needed to create an environment that depicts an interpretation of the word Ethics. 1.2 Scope The report investigates the artist’s life, his philosophy and style reflected through one of his works from his late work phase: The Garden of Earthly Delights. A wide range of books featuring different theories written by different art historians, specialising in the subject of Bosch and his style was read. The evidence was then compared and critically evaluated, in order to decide treatment and interpretation of his work.
