World Wrestling Entertainment’s almost complete dominance of the professional wrestling
industry should not continue because it doesn’t give other professional wrestling organizations
and wrestlers a chance to show themselves and become famous in mainstream society, and it has
gotten to the point where the WWE has become an unfair monopoly encompassing nearly
everything that is professional wrestling.
There are many die-hard WWE fans that say that WWE isn’t a monopoly and base this
statement on the fact that there are still other wrestling organizations existing that are shown on
TV. It’s true that there are other organizations out there, like Xtreme Pro Wrestling (XPW) and
the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), but these organizations are in every way practically
microscopic compared to the WWE. Their shows have thousands fewer people in their
audiences than WWE coliseum events and take place in much smaller arenas, such as high
school gyms and auditoriums. Also, advertising for these other organizations is limited mainly to
flyers, rare pay-per-view commercials, and coverage in wrestling magazines and on internet sites,
