Local, Live Music Loss Caused by Noise Pollution
Should Pubs, Clubs, Hotels and Bars in Adelaide be shut down because of Noise Pollution?
Pubs, Clubs, Hotels and Bars in Adelaide should not be closed down because of noise pollution. They give Adelaide’s many up-coming bands a place to start out, and learn the tricks of the trade. They give people a place to socialise and meet up, they give teens a safe place to go on a Saturday night; to view the talent we have here in our own backyard. Not to mention a place for tourists to see our talented youngsters.
So why should we close down pubs that have been there, giving our local talent a leg-up for years and years, when the people who are making the complaints have only been there for a short period of time? Then again, it’s not really and argument about who was there first, it’s an argument as to why these people are moving into an area so close to a well-known Hotel, in the middle of a city, and even more to the point, why these apartments were built in an Industrial Zone in the first place, and if these developments were mandatory, why were precautionary measures not taken. For example a minimal level of housing insulation would protect against prevailing noise.
