Cochrane
I believe that the events centre is not the answer to the town of Cochrane’s economic problems. This town is slowly falling apart; the population is declining, the infrastructure is deteriorating and the downtown core is disappearing. Cochrane does not need an events centre, it needs a new image and new businesses.
There is no need for an events centre in the town of Cochrane. It will cost too much money to build and would continually be a drag on our economy for years to come. I agree with the proposal that Cochrane needs a new arena, but a pool and new auditorium are luxuries that we can live without. The cost for a new events centre is beyond the means of our tax-base. Cochrane is a small town that is only getting smaller. How are we expected to build and maintain a huge, multi-million dollar complex, while still maintaining a stable economy? Everyone
