Physical abuse vs. Verbal abuse
Everybody has suffered from both these types of violence. We recognize the pain from physical violence and the trauma from verbal violence. But we can never seem to distinguish which is worse. At first we’re tempted to say that physical violence is worse due to its direct effect it has on us, and its very noticeable visual distinction. Verbal violence on the other hand has a way of creeping up on us later in our lives by either by closing us off emotionally or making us mentally distraught. Verbal abuse can be much more damaging to us.
Verbal abuse is the easiest and simplest form of violence one can use. It gets your point across and doesn’t cause any visible harm to the other person. That’s what we might think, but in actuality verbal abuse is one of the worst forms of violence there is, apart from being the most frequently used. The reason for this is because sometimes we don’t even realize ourselves that we’re actually being given verbal abuse. That’s when people take
