The French accepted the idea of peace, but they perceived this alliance as an easier way to convert the Indians to their way of life without having the causalities that war produced. In both instances the French and Europeans wanted to convert the Indians to Christianity, one chose war while the other chose peace and manipulation. The Iroquois and the Aztecs both wanted to increase the population of their tribe, but chose different methods as well.
