    Analyzing Night The Holocaust was a very difficult time for the people who suffered through it. Also, for the people who stood aside and watched as innocent people were killed based on their religion, sexual preference, hair color, or eye color. This horrible era in time influenced many people to publish works of literature. Many published poetry, novels, and short stories. One of these authors was Elie Wiesel. Adolf Hitler was a very powerful dictator who came to power in Germany on January 30, 1933 (Levin 28). Hitler hated the Jewish people, thus he was an Anti-Semite. The Holocaust: Death Camps states, “Hitler’s racism and anti-semitism became the central tenet of his Nazi Party’s ideology and was the driving force behind German conduct and policy during World War II” (Roleff 11). Since Hitler did not like Jews, he thought he could rid the world of them. Hitler thought that Jewish people were to blame for all the world’s troubles (Roleff 11). Concentration camps started shortly after Hitler took power of Germany. The very first camp to open in Germany was Dachau (Roleff 11).
