Reflexology
Did you know that one human foot contains seven thousand nerve endings, twenty six bones, one hundred and seven ligaments and nineteen muscles? I find that amazing! That makes the foot truly vital. This is where reflexology comes in. Also known as zone therapy, reflexology has been known to heal and relax many people. That’s why I would like for you to know a little bit more about the history of reflexology, how it works and the benefits of reflexology.
Dating all the way back to 2330 B.C., by an Egyptian carving (Figure A), reflexology has been used to heal naturally. Research has shown that this modern practice was used in all ancient healing cultures. Some evidence of this is Cleopatra was known to have worked on Mark Anthony's feet in 60 B.C, the Incas passed down to the American Indians the use of pressure therapy on the feet., Marco Polo introduced reflex-massage to the west in 1300 A.D., and the Ancient Chinese used pressure points on the feet for healing the whole body. The very first book on reflexology was written and published by 2 European physicians named Dr, Adamus and Dr, A’tatis in 1582.
