Capital Punishment Australia

    When crime is committed, of course justice needs to be served and the criminal convicted definitely deserves to be punished for his or her shameful act. Yet when we resort to the death penalty we are no longer using a fair and safe method of punishment and Ollie and I will explain why. Capital Punishment is the method of killing a criminal for a crime they have committed. It is used in a large number of countries including the USA and the majority of Asian countries. Australia is not one of these countries and that is exactly the way it should stay because Capital Punishment should remain illegal. There are many factors that prove that the death penalty is not effective in its aims and also unethical in its practice not to mention the fact that it costs more money, is more time consuming and mistakes are irreversible. There is no evidence at all that the death penalty is more effective than life imprisonment without parole in deterring crime. For this reason it is obviously a much more reasonable act to lock the criminal found guilty in prison without having to execute them. Another factor that proves this point is that most murders do not occur as the result of long term planning but are usually spur of the moment at
