“ Islam: There’s no God but God”, the name of this film carries a very strong message. It instantly denounces anyone who thinks there are many gods or anyone who sees a person or an object as significant as God. This film explores the Islamic experience in Cairo and a village of Egypt. It portrays the life of the Muslim community and how their lives revolve around God and the five pillars of Islam.
In the Islamic faith there’s no God but Allah and whoever believes and says this is a true Muslim. In the Islamic tradition there are five pillars that set the framework of Muslim life. One of the pillars is the Shahaadah, which is a Muslim’s declaration that “there’s no God but Allah, and Mohamed is his prophet.” This explains the title of the film, for it is a phrase that states the religion’s fundamental belief in one God.
