Beowulf as and Epic Hero
The classic poem Beowulf contains many of the characteristics of an epic poem. The poem revolves around the exploits of a national hero who performs his heroic acts under the control of a sovereign destiny. It is written in Grand Style. The epic embodies a conflict of two great forces.
Beowulf revolves around the exploits of a national hero who performs his heroic acts under the control of a sovereign destiny. The hero, Beowulf, is known all over the land as a respected warrior. When he comes to the Danish shore the king, Hrothgar has already heard of all of the feats that Beowulf has already accomplished. He has complete faith that Beowulf will help save his country from the monster Grendel.
