Legalizing Medical Marijuana
Today over hundreds of books have been written on the therapeutic use of marijuana but because of the popularity of marijuana as a recreational drug many debates of the use of marijuana is by moral and cultural beliefs than by scientific evidence. Since the discovery the first endocannabinoid, a chemical in the body that resembles those found in cannabis scientists have began to unravel the positive effect of the “gate way drug” Medical marijuana should be legalized because of its helpful effects on patents suffering from cancer, HIV, and epilepsy.
Many people around the world are suffering and dying slowly of cancer, and many have been put through the harsh side effect of chemotherapy. The side effects can be so devastating that patients abandon therapy or suffer diminished quality of life
One side affect is nausea, in 1990 a survey stated that 44% of oncologists suggests that their patents smoke marijuana for relief to their stomachs. Due to medical marijuana being illegal for medical use it
