Celebration of the Lizard King

    “People fear death even more than they fear pain. It’s strange they fear death. Life hurts a lot more than death. At the point of death, the pain is over.” Jim Morrison Who Closed “The Doors” Most people recognize Jim Morrison as a rock n roll legend. Other people see him as a great poet. But there are also some people that think of him as a drug-using alcoholic. I recognize Jim Morrison as a great influence on the youth of America. It is not the things he had done, like consuming large quantities of alcohol or causing riots that helped me to come to this belief. It had a lot more to do with the things he said. Having listened to some of Morrisons lyrics, and reading some of his poetry I found myself lost in deep thought. There is something about his choice of words and his style of writing. I haven’t noticed it so much in the songs that are very well known, but in the songs that have not made it into the charts. Jim Douglas Morrison was born on December 8, 1943 in Melbourne, Florida. After becoming famous Him had told interviewers that his parents had been killed in a car accident. This was later to be found false. His father Steve Morrison was married to his mother Clare Morrison. Steve worked as a navel
