Quilting
What is quilting? To me quilting meant nothing to me but sewing together patches of different color fabrics to make a blanket or something to put around you in order to keep warm. After visiting the African American Quilt exhibit I was really fascinated. I found out that there was much more to quilts then just what I thought. Especially these quilts they where patched together with pieces of fabric that actually had a meaning, pieces from the pass. The quilts where really interesting and what made them so important to me was that fact that they where quilts that where made years and years ago. Some of the quilts go back as far as World War II and the Civil War. The quilts show creativity and warmth of African American families through Reconstruction and New South historic period. Not just one person made all of the quilts is this exhibit but they where made by a variety of people. A mix o
