Page 1 How to Reformat My Hard Drive There are many reasons to reformat my hard drive. I can use the reformat process when my computer gets a bad virus that a normal anti-virus program cannot remove. When I have to many files saved to my hard drive it is easier to just reformat and start fresh. There are other reasons like installing a new operating system or if I am replacing my hard drive altogether. What ever the reason is reformatting is a good way to start fresh with my computer. There are several things I do before I start to reformat. The first thing is deciding what files and folders that are currently on my computer that I want to keep. Backing up the files and folders is very important especially when you cannot get that information back. I will also need to know what all the componets are inside my computer and get the drivers for them.
