Sharing a Piece of Ourselves
Although I don’t enjoy writing papers in the first person, I cannot help but feel that the ommition of my personal voice from this assignment would simply not due justice to my response to such a inique theatre experience. I almost wish that there was someone taping me during the entire show just so I could have gotten to see the look in my eyes as I watched what was unfolding before me on stage. It was one of the most unique theatre experiences of my life. I didn’t think I made a sound throughout the entire show. I just sat there with my mouth hanging open—completely dumfounded. I have never seen a show with such novelty that had the power to keep me so engrossed. I kept having to remind myself that I was watching a play, because I couldn’t help but feel as though I were slipping into another world of reality. Let me elaborate on this reality. In this reality, everything was clear. I saw the world as I’ve never seen if before—through the lives of these young men and women.
