The reading level of this book is about a fifth grade level although the themes in this book could be used at even a high school level. This book would also be great for higher level students who may be “low”.
The plot centers around a high school student named Phil whom does not get along well with his new homeroom teacher, Miss. Narwin. So to irritate her, Phil begins to hum the national anthem while it is being played. Soon this small acting out has CNN reporters, parents, assistant principles, and even the school board at Harrison High all worked up over Phil
