Reading an interesting article about the rising divorce rate in the weekend newspaper recently, I began to think about the implications of this trend on our society, and more importantly, the reasons for this unfortunate phenomenon. The article was chock-a-block with anecdotes and true stories that outlined the stories of the couples immediately before their decision to divorce – some of which were so bizarre and outlandish that they would have been unheard of a decade ago. However, today they are accepted as normal or as a sign of the times.
