Amazingly enough, “one to two infants per 1000 live births in the United States are affected by fetal alcohol syndrome” (What is Fetal Alcohol Syndrome?). What many women do not realize is everything they eat and drink during pregnancy affects their baby. Therefore, when the mother consumes alcohol, the baby does too. Alcohol may impact the baby’s growth, as well as provoke physical or behavior problems that will last for the rest of their life.
