Catcher In The Rye
The Catcher In The Rye by J. D. Salinger
The Main characters in this book are Holden Caulfield. He is the main character. The whole story pretty much revolves around him. He is telling this story to a psychoanalyst but you really start to feel like he is telling it directly to you, or as if you are going through a journey inside of his sick and twisted mind. Another one of the characters is Phoebe. The reason I bring this character up is because a lot of this story has her involved in Holden’s thoughts. Events that are going on in this story are not told in a normal fashion. The events in the story really aren't chronological order. He is telling basically his life story to a psychoanalyst as a form of therapy I guess. He is having one let down after another and just can't seem so cope with the world and its harshness. There is no one specific place this story takes place in. He jumps around a lot. There isn't even one place he stays in for more than a couple of days. I don't think that there is a specific date listed of which the story takes place in. The whole reason this story is taking place is because Holden is a really messed up person and he needs some major therapy. I guess that he is just trying to find h
