Children and Reincarnation
Reincarnation is the spiritual belief that after a person dies, their soul is reborn once again into another body, where it lives out life again in search of gaining worldly experiences. Scientists, most notably Dr. Ian Stevenson, have researched reincarnation for many years, and compiled many interesting and unexplainable cases of people who know things about the past that there is no logical reason that they would know. Many of the most fascinating cases involve children who can recall their past lives.
According to Stevenson, children are the best subjects in the study of reincarnation for a number of reasons. Because they are young, children are closer to their past lives, and therefore are able to remember the details of them more clearly. The mind of a child is also not yet filled with knowledge. Therefore their memories of the past cannot be attributed to having learned details about the past in school. Another reason children serve as better subjects than adults is that they are not afraid of what others will think if they make claims of a past life.
