In the following criminal case a young 15-year-old boy is being convicted of second - degree murder and faces fifteen years in prison. However, the district judge has the discretion to call upon either an adult sentence or juvenile sanctions - detention at a juvenile facility for at least two year - on a youthful offender.
In this case we must come to a definite agreement, and punishment for the crime that was committed. We must take into consideration the teen’s history of violence, schoolwork and attendance, home life, and surroundings.
First we have to look at what lead this human being to take away another life.
Anthony was only twelve years old when he was introduced to members of a gang. By the time he was fourteen years of age he was a full-fledged member. He then began to sell crack cocaine to designated locations. Which in return he received a regular income.
