film comparison- The oOutsiders Vs. Shadow of a Doubt

    There are two films in which we viewed in the first segment of our course which I felt dramatized the difficult rite of passage from innocence and idealism to reality and experience. The two films are, “Shadow of a Doubt”, which illustrates this concept through the character Charlie, and also, “The Outsiders” in which I felt that Pony boy serves as the best example, although each and every one of the boys will have to experience the same loss of innocence. Out of the two characters, I feel as though Charlie may have the most difficult time adjusting to the psychological and spiritual disillusionment that her loss of innocence will bring. The reasoning behind my belief is as follows. Charlie comes from a world where evil people just do not exist. She could never dream up a story like the one
