Meet the Parents Meet the Parents is a humorous look at how a person tries to fit in to a family that is very different than he is. I would say that the Byrnes family depicted in the film deviates more from most of society than Greg does from the family. This movie is really enjoyable because I think that almost all of us have been in Greg’s situation at one time or another in our lives. By that I mean that the norms of society weren’t always followed by the Byrnes’. Greg did a lot of things that made him look different than his fiancé’s family, but they were pretty small in comparison to how the family seemed to differ from most of society. One thing Jack did that made him stand out from other fathers in law is that he gave Greg a lie-detector test. To me this is pretty odd.
