Lord of the Flies

    The Lord of the Flies, written by William Golding presents a unique theory of mankind. William Golding believed that the base of man was evil and would express itself when there were no authority present to suppress the innate malevolence. What one may wonder after reading the novel may be if the average human would behave as the children had. The immediate response would be absolutely not. But when one questions themselves, the truth that anyone is capable of becoming savage-like and hungry for evil becomes apparent. If one was stranded on an island, what would he become? What would he provide and desire? Ralph, Simon, and Jack all proved to be monumentally important to the cause of events that followed their survival of the plane crash with their each distinct personality and how they handled the situation of being stranded on a deserted island. Ralph is the twelve-year old boy that first tries to organize the boys.
