Movies vs. Literature
Shakespeare, Ernest Hemingway, and Edgar Allen Poe are some of the authors that come to mind when literature is mentioned, but have you ever considered Andrew Nelson, Cubby Broccoli, Barrie Osborne or David Heyman, most of these names you have most likely never heard of but their work is just as famous as any of the authors listed above. Just because they direct a film rather than wrote a book, poem or a play they are easily overlooked in the literature category. Movies are just as important in the world of literature in my opinion than any poem, novel, or play.
As time has changed so have the ways of life. My grandparent’s generation grew up with no television and especially no movies so they grew up loving to read; it wasn’t just a hobby it was entertainment. My generation though is quite different; growing up our whole world has been based around television and movies. We as a generation were never taught just to sit down and read to keep us quite or entertained we were most commonly sat down in front of a television set to
