Narative/College Shock
A lot of people head off to college not having any idea to what they are getting themselves into. To these people, college may be a shocking new experience. I was not too shocked because I had been anticipating the transition to college for a long time. I am no longer under the control of my parents, and I am able to do what I want or feel like doing. I am now able to develop a better sense of self discipline. It is also a new type of atmosphere in which I can grow and learn. College did not come as a shock to me, but many things are different from the way they were at home.
Being away from my parents is a liberating experience. I don’t have them breathing down my neck making sure that I have done everything that I needed to do. Now that I am away from parents I have much more freedom that I am able to exercise. I can stay up as late as I want, or I can stay out all night. If I decide to do nothing but play video games for a week, there is nothing my parents can do about it. I no longer need to ask if I can go somewhere and have the chance that I
