Air Conditioner invention

    An important technology integrated into our society and around the world is the invention of the air conditioner. Air conditioning can be taken for granted at times. We are so used to being in or going places which are indoors with their air conditioners running when it is warm or hot out. I see the implementation of air conditioners in places where I shop, travel, and eat to be a necessity more than just a luxury. I cannot even begin to imagine what it would be like to be in a classroom on a hot or warm day without air conditioning. It would drive me mad. Air conditioners run in the background of most businesses and public and private institutions. It’s seems to have become more and more of a standard. One situation which I recall is when I took a trip on a plane four summers ago to Miami, Florida. It was in late June and the weather was very hot here in Chicago. We entered the air conditioned O’Hare airport with relief from the scorching sun outside. I got on the cooled plane and off we went. Less then an hour into the flight, the humming of the air conditioner stopped. A few minutes later the pilot got on the intercom and told us that there was a problem with the air system.
