Barber Shop
Quit Crying!
When watching comedies, everyone hopes to get a good laugh. That is the most important thing to get out of a comedy. If not, then what was the point of seeing the movie. Barbershop, is one of those movies that makes you laugh more than once. So what is the problem? As stated in the Tallahassee Democrat, many black political leaders such as Reverend Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton were fueled about the comments that Cedric the Entertainer made about Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks. Cedric the entertainer, one of the best comedians of my time, made comments about King’s sexual life and how Rosa Parks really did not do anything that was not done before.
What black political leaders are saying is this, with all the trials and tribulations that blacks have endured, we need to respect them at all times. Whether there contributions to black history were small or big, they still helped pave the way for blacks in society today. What black civil rights activist and political leaders are failing to realize is this, it is just a movie!
