Environmental Crisis. Catholic Challenge and Response
Humans were made in the image and likeness of an active and creative God, and are called to be active and creative amd to exercise sterwardship over the worlds resources and creatures stewardship implies a responsibility to respect the integrity of creation, to care for the earth and to use its gifts wisely. The CCT (Catholic-Christian Tradition) faces an environmental challenge where certain pressure groups or individuals are trying to influence the CCT to respond to the environmental crisis (EC).
The ex is an effect that has challenged the CCT. Other challenges include the indulgences in the middle ages, ungust wars and immigration.
The EC is a challenge because society is destroyinh nature, therefore society is destroying ourselves and losing religion in the process. Also in 1967, Lynn White a scientist that the Judeo-Christian interpretation of the Genesis creation stories had a great influence to the environmental crisis.
