Absolute Simplicity
The Absolut Vodka advertisements use a very simple yet catchy campaign to sell their product. Found in the September issue of Maxim for Men which primarily targets young men aging 18-30, the ad mainly targets the drinking population. Absolut’s campaign consists of featuring the irregular, odd shaped Absolut bottle as the star of each ad in a spotlight with its reflection on the table. A two-word line always is used beginning with Absolut and ending with a quality word like “perfection”. Every ad contains a new theme in each issue of many popular magazines. The ad campaign for Absolut has been continuing on with this same simplistic idea for many years now and many consumers have become collectors of these ads.
This ad in specific is selling Absolut’s Mandrin and contains the slogan of “Absolut Siesta” with the orange bottom of the bottle exposed. The word “siesta” comes from the Spanish culture that is a time of the day when everyone goes home from work to rest and relax. The bot
