Easy Rider

    Easy Rider It was 1969, an era where the Vietnam War was being protested, and a segment of our nation was rebellious against any or all-traditional values of their parents. This rebellion was represented by some of America’s youth by creating countercultures that were identified with rock music, long hair, anti-war protests and drugs. The so-called younger generation was trying to escape the bigotry that was portrayed in their lives and they sought after a life to which they could feel free. The young people failed in their identity crisis and in the end blended in with the rest of society. These free spirited individuals also known as hippies stirred up lots of emotions and gained lots of disapproval from society. As the mitts of our society was going through undeniable changes the movie “Easy Rider” was produced. The movie has two main characters Wyatt (Peter Fonda), and Billy (Dennis Hopper). Wyatt plays the loud, aggressive, arrogant role, while Billy plays the levelheaded, mindful, and insightful role. Wyatt, called Captain America by Billy wears a black leather jacket with the American flag imprinted on the back and a star-and-strips helmet.
