Darwinsism
“Social Darwinism can be considered as a misapplication of the biological evolution theory.” The concept of Social Darwinism is usually summed up into one famous quote, “the survival of the fittest,” in others words, natural selection. It has changed many things around us, the way we think about ourselves, and how we act towards ourselves and each other.
Darwin revealed that evolution is transmission with adaptation. He did this through the studies of different species of animals from the Galapagos Islands in the 1830’s. He realized that animals differ from one geographical location to the next. An example of this is when he stated in his studies that, “…some finches had shorter beaks, useful for cracking seeds.
