Japan must have planned the attack many weeks before the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. President Roosevelt declared, “The Japanese government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States, by false statements, and expressions of hope for continued peace.”
Japan attacked America for the fact that they were becoming desperate for more natural resources. The United States was in strict opposition to Japan’s plans, and began their reaction with an embargo on the shipment of oil to Japan.
