Qualities of a True American
“The principles of this country are no mere abstractions; they are written in the hearts of all true American’s.” That was a quote written in “What is an American?” from Edward L. Hudgins the director of regulatory studies at the Cato institute, and its one that I truly believe. Webster’s Dictionary may tell you that an American is anyone who has obtained citizenship in the United States, but they are much more than that. There is no diagram that explains the characteristics of a ‘true’ American but in the heart of every American citizen exists their own opinion of what they believe makes some one an American. It’s hard to put into words exactly what that is, but I know that all true Americans are a little bit of the following. They are brave, patriotic, hard working, and know and enjoy their freedoms.
