Women Battering
“I have everything, except life without fear.” When I read this quote all I read was “I have no life”. Life with fear is not a way of living and to hear a woman talk about being afraid in her own home is a very heartbreaking thing. And to think this woman is possible going to sleep in the same bed tonight with the same man that has been beating her while we go to bed knowing we will have the same skin color in the morning makes everything we worry about when we fall asleep very petty.
This woman starts off by talking about a wonderful family who is looked at well from society but she makes the mistake at the end of the paragraph by saying that she has all the comforts that their family could possible want. Being in a place where you fear, I would think that it makes all the luxuries and comforts no longer that. Those things she once looked at as luxuries turned into as an excuse for her husband to beat her. A question that was left unanswered was “Was he like this when they got married?” That question is a very important one because obviously a man who beats his wife and is with other women cant possible love his wife or he wouldn’t be doing such things.
