The son of a chief of the region called “Shakyas” founded Buddhism. The son’s name was Siddhartha Gautama or “The Buddha”. This place is located in the Himalayas near Nepal. He was the chief's son of a tribal group, the Shakyas, he was born a Kshatriya around 566 BC.
