“The Lady, or the Tiger” By Frank R. Stockton
In “The lady, or The Tiger” there was a semi-barbaric king who built an arena for his justice system. In the arena was two doors the person on trail would have to choose one of the too. In one door there was a beautiful woman and in the other laid a ferocious tiger. If the man were to choose the tiger it was said that he was guilty and the man would die. If the man chose the door with the woman he would be married to the woman behind the door. The accused would have no information on which door either thing was in. In the story the king’s daughter was madly in love with a man of a lower class. The barbaric king found out and immediately put the man a trial. The princess bribed a woman to figure out which was behind each door. On the trail day the princess casually motions her right hand and without second thoughts the accused man chooses the right door.
