Speading Early Islam
After the Military conquest of Spain by the Berbers from North Africa, Islam flourished in the Iberic Peninsula for more than 700 years. This was due first to lack of military backup on Spain’s behalf, and secondly due to the pacifist teachings of the Islamic civilization.
Islam started in 590 in the Arabian peninsula, by the last prophet of God (Allah) Muhammad. At first, in the city of Mekka, Muhammad and his followers were persecuted and out-casted. But Islam is a religion that calls for brotherhood, and so followers stayed with Muhammad, to whom they had professed their faith to. This true brotherhood attracted believers already inside the walls of Mekka. Muhammad and his followers first started to spread to the states, peoples, and nomads on the boarders of Mekka. After preaching, and teaching inside Mekka, Muhammad had enough followers or rather believers to start an army and begin to conquest to different areas around the Arabian peninsula
Islam spread all around, through the nomads, to the East, in the Arabian Peninsula. They traded with these nomads on their way to Asia. To the West, to the Western African empires in Timbuktu, Muhammad and his followers started a Muslim University. This happened
