Bob Marley is the composer of a

The album Exodus by Bob Marley and the Wailers is a creative ‘landmark’ within the history of popular music. So significant is this album, it was named Album of the Century by Time Magazine. Exodus displays a number of aspects that express the success of this album, allowing it to achieve the status of a creative ‘landmark‘. It was the first and biggest reggae album to make an impression on an international level, it was a political and social album, which influenced musicians throughout the world, the musical aspects influenced other genres of music and it defined the period of the 1970’s.
Exodus was released in May 1977, and consists of 10 songs, which represent political and social events of the 1970’s in Jamaica. The album was recorded at Island Records in London, and was set up by Chris Blackwell. Bob Marley and the Wailers had previously recorded three albums, making Exodus the fourth. Just before the album was recorded, an assassination attempt was performed on Bob Marley and his wife, Rita Marley.
