Role Models
Every child has a role model growing up. Whether it be a sports star or cartoon character, a very important part of character development is done through emulation of respected figures. The process of following the lead of a role model doesn’t end in childhood though. Even grown men and women can have role models to follow and live their life by. A role model is defined as a person who serves as a model in a particular behavioral or social role for another person to emulate. That being said, there is no reason for adults to not have role models as well.
One particular role model that people of all ages can imitate is George Washington. Our first president is a perfect example of how every American should act. He was a leader, patriot, and great president. Washington lived his life based on principles of honesty, liberty, integrity, and courage. These are qualities that every man of every faith in every country should have. Many of the world’s leaders have forgotten what it is meant to live by this creed. Evil men use patriotism as an excuse for committing atrocious acts against humanity. The true meaning behind patriotism isn’t about fighting against imaginary constraints, but to fight for true freedom agains
