Juries Under Siege

    Abstract The American legal system has a long and proud history. The foundation for it is laid out in the Constitution. One of the ideals included in the Constitution is that everyone is guaranteed the right to a fair and speedy trial. The jury system is a key part of our legal system. A jury is normally made up of 12 individuals selected at random to avoid any signs of partiality. They have made key decisions in the past that have made an impact on our society today. Now, there are some people that would like to see the jury system eliminated.
