Orff Teaching Methodology
The Orff-Schulwerk teaching method is simply a model for the design of learning experiences. Although it focuses mainly on musical learning, it also has strong implications on social and cultural learning. In a large group context, the students learn to be comfortable with what they call “active music making”. It is sometimes referred to as “elemental” music making, meaning that that materials used should be basic and familiar in the life and experiences of the child.
