Rome can stand in comparison to the U.S. in many ways. Though historians haven’t proved what caused the fall of the Roman Empire many suggestions have been set forth. They can be put in 3 categories: Social and Economic causes, Political causes, and Military causes. In this paper we will examine some these causes and talk about how the U.S. stands in comparison.
Low level of technical skill, inadequate credit system, short number of idle mouths, and a tendency toward independence have been used as reasons for the fall of the Roman Empire.
