Most people have felt lonely in their life one time or another. John Steinbeck wrote a great story about loneliness called “Of Mice and Men”. Loneliness can be hard on someone and this book gives many examples of people being lonely and how they deal with it. John Steinbeck portrays the theme of loneliness through the characters of Candy, Curley’s wife, and Crook. Candy was a lonely character until the end of the book. In the beginning it seemed like he only had his dog and no friends.
