Job
JOB
The book of Job is regarded as one of the world’s great literary masterpiece's. This book also contains some of the finest, most expressive poetry in the Bible.
Job was the greatest man among all the people in the east. He was a man who feared God and shunned evil; he was upright and blameless.
In the land of Uz, is where he raised seven sons, three daughters, seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred donkeys, and a large number of servants.
Job’s sons would take turns holding feasts in their home and inviting their three sisters to come over to eat and drink with them. After the festival was over, Job would send and have them purified. Then, early the next morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, fearing maybe his children had sinned and cursed God in their hearts. This was Job’s regular custom.
One day while Satan was roaming the earth, going back and forth, he saw Job. Satan knew Job was a faithful and loyal servant to the Lord, but nonetheless, he wanted to test him. Satan said to the Lord,
