Rabies

Infectious Disease Research Assignment Rabies is a viral infection that could be one of the most deadly diseases known to mankind. Most people get rabies from being bitten by a rapid animal. But, there are also cases of people who have gotten infected by coming in contact of animal saliva with the rabies virus through broken skin (open wound to a scratch). Very rarely, rabies is spread in the air, and if it is, it is animals giving it to animals (not to humans). The most common animal to spread the rabies virus is the raccoon, because they usually live in more populated areas. But other common carriers are wolves, bats, skunks, foxes, household pets (dogs and cats); and rarely rabbits, squirrels, rats and opossums.
