Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter who had suffered with many physical and emotional changes throughout her life. This is a biography on Frida Kahlo’s life and the effect that the changes had on her life.
Frida’s life began and ended in Mexico City, in her home known as the “Blue House”. She gave her birth date as July 7 1910, but her birth certificate indicates her birth date as July 6 1907. Frida hated the year she was born in; she never gave a reason why, but changed her birth date to satisfy her needs.
At the age of 6, Frida was told she had Polio, which caused her right leg to appear much thinner than the other. It was to remain that way permanently.
When Frida entered High School she was a tomboy full of mischief who became the ringleader of a rebellious group of manly boys that continually caused trouble in the National Preparatory School. This group pulled many pranks, manly on professors. It was also in the National Preparatory School that Frida came into contact with her future husband, the Mexican muralist Diego Rivera.
